Newly released information on the scale to which Northern Ireland relies on EU trade shows a shocking difference in the figures.  According to The Detail news website it is not the over £200 million surplus that people relied on to inform themselves about how NI might fare in a post Brexit scenario its  – wait for it – an over £2 billion pound deficit.

In fairness its down a new methodology used by HMRC but the figure is staggering and has led to the Assembly revising its analysis on the implications of Brexit on Northern Ireland.

Meanwhile in the Republic ESRI  while predicting strong economic growth is suggesting that tax revenues will not be as strong as anticipated and could cost the excequer over 200 million euro less in expected income.
